If you, for any reason whatsoever, needed to copy YouTube videos, then this may be helpful for you to read. I’m not suggesting in any way that you copy someone’s video directly and post it for your own benefit. I think if you’re going to post something, it needs to have some effort put into it.
For that reason, the reasons I suggest you copying anything from someone else’s work is for the simple act of editing it, by cutting out segments or anything else you’d like to do, and then it can be considered your own work. One example of this is if you want to give a friend a video for their birthday, and want to personalize a scene from their favorite movie, you could find a clip of that movie on YouTube and edit it to say your friend’s name or have it typed on the screen or something
Now, I will go ahead and give you some resources so you can see how easy and simple it is to copy a video off of YouTube. What you do with it once you do that is your own business. Just have fun!
Copy
To actually copy the video off of YouTube, simply find a video that you like, copy the URL from it, use a video converter, and download the file. Once it’s finished downloading, find the file in your documents, and you should be able to play it from there.
Convert
Now that you have that information, I’m going to fill you in on how to find a good program to convert and how to use it. You can download FFmpeg to convert your audio and video from YouTube to your computer. To actually use it, all you have to do once it’s open is click add (to add the file you just downloaded), select Microsoft to convert to, and WMV2 Generic for the device preset, and choose the location you wish to save the file to and click convert. Once you do that, the conversion will be automatic.
Edit
Once you have the video downloaded and converted, it’s time for the fun part - the editing. Windows Movie Maker is a great software program that you can use to edit or enhance your videos. You can use this program to remove scenes and then preview as you go. Once you’re done editing, you click publish to export the movie, whether you’re burning it to a DVD or writing a new file to the computer.
You’re Done
Since you’ve managed to complete all of the steps above, you’re on your way to making a great, new movie that is all your own. Since you’ve put the work into to make it unique and different from what you copied, it’s now YOUR YouTube video.
