How to Create Twitter Backgrounds in Photoshop

Create Twitter Backgrounds

With all of the new social media networks growing, you want to be seen and gain friends, followers, fans, or similar. To do this on Twitter you need to stand out from the rest. One really good way to do this is by learning how to create Twitter backgrounds.

If you can create your own, unique background for Twitter then your page won’t look like every other user’s out there. I’m going to give you some advice on not only how to create a unique background, but how to do so in Photoshop. Let’s start with the different styles you can go with.

Repeated Background Pattern

The main advantage to choosing a background like this is that it can work no matter what the monitor resolution is. If you have one common pattern, it can shrink or expand with any screen.

Fading

You can use just one graphic on your background to add some interest. Work with higher resolutions so the image is faded out, that way it blends.

Graphic

Use a large background image that fills the whole screen. It leaves you with a large variety of options in term of creativity, but make sure the file size so that it won’t get cut off in certain resolutions.

Photoshop

There are a few steps within this to let you know how to put your background all together. First, use a good size canvas. Then make sure you keep all of the important information to the left, so it will be seen to the side of your Tweets and other Twitter information.

The Process

Choose the canvas size of 1600 x 1200. Then add your decorations or images or whatever it is you want seen, and position it to the left and then you can fade it out to a solid color towards the bottom right. Lastly, put the name or logo of your site as far left as possible, maybe even have it laid out vertically, that way visitors on your Twitter account will have access to your website.

That’s It!

So that’s all you have to do. Once you have the background all set up, simply save it to your computer and add it to your Twitter account, and you’re ready to go!
